Seth Jarvis is coming off of a career-best regular season outing. Jarvy spoke about not taking the opportunity to play in the playoffs for granted, what stands out about the Isles and the confidence this group has in its depth
This team this year, it's gonna be fun. Uh I think everyone here is excited. We've been waiting a long time for, for this chance, especially if the, the team we got now, uh, we're ready for, ready for whatever. How does having a guy like Andre on the, in the playoff roster now, having Jay the explosive that this team, they've had all 82 games make you so much deadlier than you were last year. Yeah. Well, I mean, gets stat you back. I mean, obviously last year, I missed that kind of physical edge, the skill he brought, he's a threat in multiple different ways and then gets, has been in playoffs for a lot. He's, uh, he's played a lot of games but brings a lot of veteran presence and, uh, someone who's performed really well in that game, you feel, do you feel like this team is completely different from last year in terms of the talent and the skill you guys are bringing to the playoffs? Uh, no, I think in some ways we're different, but I think in a lot of ways we still got the same mentality. We still obviously have a lot of, a lot of the same guys who have that bad taste in their mouth. But I think, uh, I think the new guys coming in, they kind of got the idea of, of where we're at mentally and, uh, how dangerous is a team like the Islanders giving their up and down season. But coming in as hot as they are right now, yeah, they're coming in playing real good hockey. So, yeah, anyone who makes the playoffs is gonna be a dangerous team. But yeah, them coming in hot. You saw how Florida did last year, so we just gotta be prepared can be surprised and especially starting our own building. Come on hot. The depth that you guys have this year. Yeah, a lot. I mean, I never want to see guys go down but, you know, when they go down, we have, we have guys that step up and fill those roles and do really well. So I think just having, having guys that might sit out, but a lot of other teams don't sit out. It's, uh, it's nice, you know, like you said, confidence, you mentioned playing in front of the fans. How special is that when you guys drive in and you can see all everybody out there tailgating and, you know, earlier in the day, you know, how special that for you, it's gonna be awesome, especially Saturday a little bit earlier because then I'm hoping there's gonna be a lot of people out there, uh, and then I think just getting ready to go for, when skating out for the national anthem. I think it's one of the coolest films in the world with everyone going crazy and, and stuff like that. It's gonna be, it's gonna be really special. Three years for you. Can you still believe, uh, hardly, uh, can you believe it though? You know, this ride you could have been on and, you know, it's your third Stanley Cup playoffs here. Yeah, I'm, I'm glad I've been able to get this chance to play in them every year. I know. I know, I don't take it for granted. I know a lot of guys would kill to be, be in this sloppy, able to play in the playoffs. So it's just, uh, a lot of excitement, a lot of built up excitement for this opportunity and hopefully, uh, hopefully a long run. So you guys have been in my house multiple times? Ok. The contender a factor. How do you not let pressure kind of build? You've got this goal that you guys have talked about for years. You haven't quite gotten there. How do you keep it there? Getting overwhelmed? Well, I think we just have so many good veterans in here that have been, been through it and, uh, experienced the playoffs. So they keep it pretty, pretty level, pretty easy going in here, I think as long as you don't, uh, the moment doesn't get too big for anybody in here. I think they do a good job of kind of minimizing that, especially for young guys like myself, uh, making it easy to transition and not get too overwhelming. Do you have any kind of special celebration in mind for your first playoff goal this year to get kissing your stick and practice it? No, I, I don't know. Well, I just snapped that stick so I got a new one. I got nothing in mind. I just want to score. I, I wanna win, I wanna help up the team and, uh, if I get the chance I'm sure.
