Hurricanes forward Jordan Martinook had 14 goals and 18 assists in 82 regular season games this season. Marty spoke about the excitement of starting the playoffs and what makes the Islanders a difficult matchup
This excitement. Um, obviously, you're, I feel like you work, you work hard all year to get to this point. But then, um, like once it flips and, you know, when you're playing and who you're playing, then just sense of excitement and a little bit of nerves kicks in and you just get ready to rock. And, um, yeah, just some preparation here the next couple of days to get ready for what's going to be a, an intense series. We know these guys, uh, really well and we know what they're going to bring. So we gotta be ready for it. How dangerous is a team like that? Just the first year here, we were on a team that was scratching and clawing to get in and, um, you can use that as, uh, a lot of momentum. But, um, our, our team is obviously we haven't had to work as, as hard lately in the season to get in. But we're, uh, we know when that, uh, that puck drops at the intensity level of our team. I know everybody in here will be ready to go. So I'm, uh, I'm just ready for Saturday night. You mentioned the Islanders, you know what they do when they think about the strong suits to their, what specifically are those? Well, they're a veteran team that plays plays well within their structure that they're, they're really not gonna make mistakes. You're gonna have to kind of push them into this deep water if you want to say it that way. And, um, try and we know we can, we can wear teams down with the way we play and that's what we're gonna have to do. And, um, it's just night shift after shift, night after night, we just kind of try and try and take, take momentum and, um, just use, use our game plan in the way that we've had had success over the years here to, to take it to him.
