The N.C. High School Athletic Association will return to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem for the boys & girls basketball state semifinals and finals in 2025.

On Wednesday morning, the NCHSAA Board of Directors voted unanimously to keep the "Final Four" style format for the basketball state playoffs and to return to the venue on the campus of Wake Forest University.

This past basketball season marked the first time the NCHSAA held the state semifinals and finals at a single location.

According to members of the board of directors, which includes multiple basketball coaches — one of which who coached in the event this past season — the reaction from the member schools was "overwhelmingly positive."

Games were played over six days, beginning on a Monday and running through Saturday. Each game featured four games per day. Semifinals were played Monday-Thursday, with state championship games on Friday and Saturday.

This is a developing story, it will be updated.
