Softball Rankings: South Caldwell moves to No. 1, five teams join statewide Top-25

Lake Norman earned a 3-2 victory this past week to take down top-ranked Mooresville. South Caldwell, who continues to dominate its competition, has taken its 20-0 record into the top spot in this week's statewide Top-25 rankings.

Joining the Spartans in the poll are five new teams including Weddington who quickly re-entered after three narrow victories over Cuthbertson, No. 16 Porter Ridge, and No. 17 Marvin Ridge.

Apex Friendship, East Rowan, Uwharrie Charter, and South Johnston round out the list of newcomers. Rockingham County, West Rowan, and Brevard turned in strong performances to crack back into the Top-15 area code rankings.

Next week will be the final edition of rankings until the postseason concludes.
