Wilkes County woman charged with attempted murder, child abuse after stabbing

TRAPHILL, N.C. — A Wilkes County woman is facing several charges after a stabbing last month.

According to the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office, on April 26, deputies responded to Lovette Lane, off Austin-Traphill Road, in reference to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies say they learned the victim was already en route to Hugh Chatham Hospital in a personal vehicle.

After an investigation, deputies learned it was a domestic incident, and Selena Lovette, age 39, of Traphill, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, misdemeanor domestic violence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and misdemeanor child abuse.
